CSC are excited to offer for sale this stunning, high spec Caterham Seven 420R with just one private owner from new.

The Caterham Seven needs no introduction to anyone considering ownership of one of these unique high performance cars. It is with thanks to Colin Chapmans philosophy of ‘simplify, then add lightness’ back in 1957 that the then Lotus 7, an ultra-light 2 seater sports car was born.

Forward 16 years to 1973 and the rights to carry on production of this amazing vehicle were acquired by Caterham, who have been creating and developing the concept ever since whilst maintaining the original and essential basics.

This particular example was purchased and built by its single private owner, who happens to have very good connections with a specialist sports vehicle company, and therefore access to all the engineering knowhow and equipment anyone could want, needless to say, this car has been built to the highest standards. This 420R also comes with a superb specification and has covered just 2,100 miles since being registered in 2019.

Externally this Seven is finished in stunning Gulf Blue with the obligatory orange stripes and presents really nicely. The optioned R pack makes for some very nice carbon detailing, whilst the car sits on the more driver focused 13” Apollo alloy wheels finished in contrasting black, and shod with Avon ZZR tyres. To the rear of the Seven, the optioned FIA certified roll-over bar adds additional stiffness to the chassis whilst hinting at the cars potential.

Inside, the theme continues with tillet lightweight composite seats featuring 4 point safety harnesses and minimal creature comforts. The Carbon fibre dashboard looks the part whist saving unnecessary weight. The quick-release Momo steering wheel allows a more ‘dignified’ entry and exit whist adding a fairly significant anti-theft deterrent.

Although weather protection increases weight, and therefore is not particularly high on Caterham’s list of priorities, this 420R does come with both the smaller emergency ‘half-hood’ and a full weather pack comprising side screens, full hood and boot cover should they be needed.

This Caterham 420R has been used sparingly, and has covered just over 2,000 miles in the 3 years since it was first road registered. As you would expected, the car is in superb condition and offers a very raw, but thrilling driving experience like no other.
