We present for sale this stunning, low mileage early Lotus Esprit V8 from 1996. The car is in excellent condition throughout with no major signs of damage or wear including un-marked and pristine alloy wheels.

The V8 esprit is a 3.5 litre twin turbo charged version of Lotus’s most iconic car which was constantly developed from its humble beginnings in 1975. The model had a re-design and face lift in 1987 and launched several new versions over the following nine years with the 3.5 V8 being launched in 1996. The model would run until the end of Esprit production in 2004.

This Particular V8 is from the first year of production being first registered in August 1996 and has been with its current owner since November 2004. The car was used as a weekend car for the next 3 years covering very few miles before being put into dry storage at the owner’s home for around several years.

The car has recently been through an extensive re-commissioning program by North West Lotus specialists Oakmere (formerly Christopher Neil Ltd) and is now fully serviceable and ready to be used.

This car, having covered just 22,000 presents very well with no major marking or damage to note or to detract from what is ultimately 21 year old fiberglass bodywork. The pop-up headlamps retain their original light lenses with the ‘concave’ dipped beam units (which are no longer available) and the stunning alloy wheels are blemish free and fitted with brand new Dunlop SP Sport rubber all round.

Internally, the tilting and removable glass roof panel give the cabin an airy feel and the dark grey leather and trim remains in excellent condition with no major signs of wear other than a slight age related patina. All switch gear works as it should and the inflatable seat side bolsters allow the low slung sports seats to be tailored to suit each occupant. All carpet areas are clean and free from damage with the foot-wells being protected by matching tailored floor mats.

HISTORY:
The car was first registered on 21st August 1996 at Lotus dealer JCT 600 in Bradford. The car was re-sold to its second owner in August 1998 through Lotus Dealer having covered 3,820 miles in its first two years.

The car was exported the car to Guernsey in 2000 with its second owner, remaining registered in the Channel Islands for around 4 years before being re-registered with its third owner back in the UK.

The current and 4th owner has owned the Esprit since 15th November 2004 and has used Christopher Neil Ltd in Northwich as their main source of maintenance. The car was put into dry storage at the owner’s home in the summer of 2007 where it remained until April 2017 when the car underwent a considerable re-commissioning program by Oakmere (formerly Christopher Neil's) of Cheshire.
