DESCRIPTION:
CSC present for sale this fantastic 911 73 Backdate based on a 1983 3.2 Carrera Coupe. The Current and previous owner of the car have invested heavily in creating a one off backdate which oozes with character and charm and which never fails to put a smile on the drivers face and attract a double take by any passers-by! This stunning 911 is the end result of a long and costly restoration & backdate project to create a fun to drive air cooled 911 with classic 911 looks.

Looking back through the history file, this 1983 911 has crossed the paths of some of the most recognised names in the business:- Ray Northway, Bob Watson, Nick Prowse to name a few.

The standard 3.2 underwent its first engine in November 2001 with Bob Watson Engineering and was returned to normal service. 2009 saw the car receive some major bodywork restoration including front wing removal and B post renovations.

In the next few years the car was backdated to a 2.7 RS replica in white and blue livery and was purchased by the previous owner around May 2014. In August of 2014, the car was delivered to Cheshire Porsche Specialist Ninemeister for some major maintenance including a second engine re-build and the car returned to weekend fun service.

In early 2016, the car was again trusted to Ninemeister, this time for a gearbox rebuild and some bodywork repairs before being purchased by the current owner in April 2017 who in turn had some further and upgrades carried out on the car including new KW suspension.

Through 2018 /19, the car was returned to Ninemeister for further Bodywork and maintenance including a sunroof delete and new front end body work refresh including genuine 1973 Porsche steel panels to replace the previously fitted copy items. More recently, in May of 2022, Ninemeister carried out some minor maintenance and re-trimmed the 911’s interior with a new carpet set.

The end result is a spectacular and characterful air-cooled 911 which looks fantastic just sitting still and becomes even more impressive once the key is turned and it heads down the road, turning the heads of any innocent by-standers!.

As expected, the bodywork of this 911 is finished to a very high standard with immaculate paintwork and well fitted panels. There are no major blemishes to be found on the superb paintwork. The grey and green decals tie in nicely with the green centred fuch alloy wheels whilst the chrome trims, yellow headlights and stainless steel sports exhaust really add the finishing touches.

Inside, the car is practical whilst carrying a lightweight ‘RS’ theme with a light-weight carpet set, RS style door cards, rear seat delete and centre console delete. Classic style bucket seats finished in half leather look the part whilst remaining comfortable. The period Momo Prototipo steering wheel completes the look and adds a real classic feel to the driving experience.

On the road, the car feel eager and responsive, with the 3.2 engine pull-ing strongly in each gear whilst the clutch is smooth and easy to use (for an early 911). The 915 transmission is surprisingly easy and pleasurable to use and feels more precise than most, and the brakes are firm but progressive giving driver confidence. The stainless sports exhaust adds the sound-track to complete the package which makes for an unforgettable 911 experience.
