DESCRIPTION:
CSC are excited to offer for sale this beautifully presented and very rare 2004 996 Carrera 4S Cabriolet, ordered in Exclusive Paint to Sample Carrara White. This superb example comes with Tiptronic S transmission and comes with Metropole Blue Leather and Matching Convertible Hood, and comes with the factory removable hardtop. This particular car comes with the desirable option code 0991 which refers to it being subject to Porsches ‘Exclusive’ build options thanks to its paint colour and interior leather specification.

Porsche launched the 996 Carrera 4S in 2002 which featured 996 Turbo body styling, wheels, Suspension and Brakes. The turbo’s wider track, and uprated suspension and brakes made for a very stable and high performance 911, whilst remaining a little more civilised than the 400 plus bhp 911 turbo and its associated running costs. The 4S also saw the return of the rear full width reflector giving a nod to the air cooled classics.

This particular example is finished in special order, ‘paint to sample’ Carrara White, a colour not available as a standard option on the 2004 996, indeed factory finished 996’s are an extremely rare sight on UK roads as the main colours of choice during the early 00’s were black, grey, silver and blue. The exterior of this example presents beautifully with no major blemishes or signs of wear. Likewise the 18” turbo style alloy wheels are immaculate and undamaged. The car has a Metropole Blue electrically operated hood which is in superb condition and is supplied with its original matching removable factory hardtop making the car a more practical proposition for all year round use.

On the inside, the Metropole blue ‘draped’ leather is in superb condition and shows no major signs of use. The car is optioned with electrically heated seats which feature Porsche crested headrests and the superb BOSE sound system. The outdated PCM radio and communications unit has been replaced with a large colour touch screen system offering DAB radio, Bluetooth connectivity, Navigation and Hands Free telephone use.

If you are in the market for a 996, then you will be aware of the rather common engine issues which these cars can suffer with, especially bore scoring of the 3.6 litre engines. This particular 996 was diagnosed with the issue in 2018 and was then fitted with a new warranted short engine by Porsche Centre Leeds with a final cost of £10,500. The car has covered just 2550 miles on the new engine and for additional piece of mind, we have recently (March 23), had the engine bores inspected by Ninemeister Porsche who can confirm no bore scoring issues with this new engine.

HISTORY:
The car was first registered on 31st July 2004 at Porsche Centre Swindon, and has been with the current owner since August 2018, fresh from having the new engine fitted at a mileage just shy of 55,000 miles. The service history shows the car was serviced within the OPC network until 2014, and has since been serviced and maintained by independent specialists.

The 996 has just had a major service including Spark Plugs, Brake Fluid Change and Borescope Inspection at Cheshire Porsche Specialists Ninemeister.

The Recent MOT runs until 8th March 2024 and shows no advisory points raised at the previous test, and the car is HPi clear.
