CSC present for sale this superb 1984 3.2 Carrera Coupe, fresh from a recent total rebuild by TP Engineering in Germany. Finished in stunning Gulf Blue, the restoration has a lightweight theme with RS inspired interior and ducktail spoiler. Subtle modifications have made the Carrera more driveable and suitable for modern driving including Motronic Electronic Ignition.

The Carrera originally finished in Slate Blue, was registered new in Texas USA in March 1984 and was exported to Germany in 2014 where it joined a que of similar cars for full restoration and restyling by Porsche specialists TP Engineering.

The Carrera underwent a full strip down and rebuild including Engine and transmission and was then re-finished in stunning Gulf Blue with some subtle styling modifications such as the under hood fuel tank filler, 2.7 RS style duck tail engine lid, late model 16” Fuch alloy wheels and a stainless steel twin centre outlet exhaust system. Classic chrome mirrors, window surrounds and headlight trims also add an air of ‘classic’ 911 to complete the look. The panel fit and paint finish on this rebuild are superb and hard to fault with the car having covered less than 400 miles since completion.

Mechanically, the engine and transmission were stripped down, rebuilt and re-finished along with the upgrade of Motronic Electronic ignition and fuel injection system for improved efficiency, performance and reliability and a Locking Differential was added to improve traction.

Inside, the car is practical whilst carrying a lightweight theme with a light-weight carpet set and RS style door cards. The Recaro Sports Seats re-trimmed in black leather with blue stitching suit the car perfectly, and the rear seat delete and colour coded Roll Bar add to the RS theme. A classic Momo steering wheel adds a period look whilst giving added steering feel.

On the road, the car feel eager and responsive, with the uprated 3.2 engine pulling strongly in each gear whilst the rebuilt transmission operates precisely without the usual 915 vagueness. The brakes are firm but progressive giving driver confidence. The stainless sports exhaust adds the sound-track to complete the package which makes for an unforgettable 911 experience.
The Carrera rebuild was completed by TP Engineering in 2019 and the car advertised on Mobile.de, one of Germanys most popular vehicle sales sites where it caught the eye of the current UK owner who was on the lookout for a useable, retro themed air-cooled 911. One flying visit to Germany to visit TP Engineering and see the Carrera lead to a subsequent sale and import of the 911 into the UK in May 2019 with UK registration completed in August 2019.
