DRIVING:
The part electric seats are easily adjusted to find your perfect driving position and a twist of the key alerts you to that fabulous 2.7 flat six engine located right behind your seat. Once on the road, the clutch is light and the gear box accurate and easy to use. These mid engined Caymans handle perfectly, and a fast flowing A road is a joy to drive with the car following your every command and the steering feeding back exactly what the road surface is doing. The ride on the 19inch wheels is fairly firm but remains comfortable. The vented and cross drilled disc brakes make for powerful but smooth deceleration. At slow speeds and around town the car is happy to bumble along and easy to drive in the slow traffic with better visibility than its soft top Boxster brother thanks to the small rear ¾ windows and large rear screen .
Once the engine is warmed up and you find some quiet open road the car offers plenty of performance. The car pulls strongly through each gear with the charismatic flat 6 howl making itself heard from around 4,000 rpm as the red needle in-font of you pushes towards the 7300rpm red line . The car corners accurately and securely in all conditions whilst the PSM (Porsche Stability Management) constantly monitors grip levels.
On the motorway, this car will cruise comfortably for hours, offering instant performance as needed whilst returning over 36mpg. This is a very capable car which can provide both high speed thrills or calm sophisticated cruising to suit the occasion.
